Trafalgar square. Check. Churchill's War Rooms. Check. Changing of the guards. Check. Big Ben. Check. Westminster Abbey. Check. And with that my tour of duty as a London tourist is officially done. Admittedly, I am anti-State symbolisms and have a bias against the fetish for monuments & relics. To me, it assumes the best days are behind us, hero worshipping is admirable, and that humans don't have a long innovative future ahead (where will we make room for all that history in the millennia to come?). One only has to look in the eyes of the shiny soldiers upon their regal horses to know that it's really only about tourism.
