Whatever

6/13/2015

Upon arrival, Zoe gave a warning that Rick Steves described the St. Paul’s Cathedral climb as claustrophobic. Max and I said “harrumph” and took off to make an easy trek to the Whispering Gallery where I took an illegitimate photo by accident and was yelled at by the attendant on the otherwise very quiet Whispering gallery (photo 1). “Rick Steves is an idiot” as I asked Max not to touch the railing up. Then we saw a sign for the Stone Gallery. More narrow for sure but far from harrowing, making Rick Steves even dumber (“Don’t touch the railing Max!”). Upon arrival we arrived at what we thought was the final money shot for Max (photo 2) . . . that is until Max said “hey Dad, the Golden Gallery has an even better view.” Golden Gallery? What the heck is he talking about? Sure enough, there was the sign. So off we went on a 152 step, Indiana-Jones-like-climb up tower of doom . . .  “HOLD ONTO THE RAILINGS MAX!”

Rick Steves is one smart cookie (photo 3).
